[Question] What is an acceptable price?

[canon a1] lomo pictures

I’m playing with the idea of developing film for other people as a paid service. The main reason I’m thinking about this, is that in Belgium it’s very hard, to almost impossible to find a lab that does more then just process your color-film. I haven’t found a lab yet that does push, pull, b/w, cross processing, e6, … So that’s why I want to test and see if it’s possible to do this for people in Europe (sorry for everybody else, but the shipping costs would be too much).

Now my question to you is, how much would you pay to have your film developed by hand according to your own preferences? I’ll list a possible price guide below. Let me know what you think.

  • 35mm C-41 film by hand with 300 dpi scans via dropbox – 10 euro/roll
  • 35mm B/W film by hand with 300 dpi scans via dropbox – 9 euro/roll
  • 120mm C-41 film by hand with 300 dpi scans via dropbox – 11 euro/roll
  • 120mm B/W film by hand with 300 dpi scans via dropbox – 10 euro/roll
  • Cross process E6 in C-41 or B/W – 12 euro/roll
  • Push or pull development – 1 euro/stop/roll extra
  • Stand development b/w in Adanol – 1 euro/roll extra
  • scanning at 1200 dpi – 3 euro/roll extra
  • scanning at 2400 dpi – 5 euro/roll extra
  • contact print – 3 euro/roll extra

Film will be received by mail, processing and scanning within 5 workdays. Photos online on dropbox after scanning. Shipping cost to mail the negatives to you will be extra depending on your location.

Please let me know what you think about it.

Photomfa: find a photolab that develops film

Through a comment here on the blog I discovered a very convenient website. The website photomfa is a database where you can find photolabs that still develop film. If you know of a lab that is not yet in the directory, just add it. It’s a very helpful resource.
