Kodak says: Film is not dead
On monday Kodak announced that they are replacing the discontinued Kodak portra 160VC and Kodak portra 160NC with a new Kodak portra 160. The film will have finer grain and be better for scanning. Sadly we loose the 160VC but Kodak claims that the ektar 100 is a suitable replacement for that.
It seems that Kodak is trying to push film into the digital world, I myself think that this is a good thing, as this means that there is still a market for film photography. I would be very interested to try this new portra and see if it is really better for scanning than the film we have till now. So hopefully kodak will bring this film to Belgium or send me a sample to try it out.
